Philosophy & Applications

Main philosophy of the project was to apply tools which are freely accessible so that no social-economic aspects could influence their use. In this way, the participants learned not only to spread informations but to warrant a democratic principle in their classes and for their potential students who don´t have to acquire expensive software. This is only the case in open source applications and free platforms.

For the webdesign it was important to include a free webspace with hosting which is only provided by CMS platforms like jimdo.com - the easiest webtool to set up an own website in minutes which doesn´t require any programming skills at all.
A website without appealing header and well edited fotos is only half of it and the students were provided with the 2.6 version of the open source image editing application Gimp. The 2.6 version works on weaker or older computers, too.
